Notes

  • Program notes:

Alma redemptoris mater was composed in late 2014 as a commission for mixed choir Saint Nicholas Litija for the annual christmas concerts in several stages all over Slovenia. The concept of that project was the use of plain Gregorian chants, combined with contemporary elements and extensive, almost cluster-like harmonies. The premiere performance took place on 20th December 2014 in Pragersko and the critics praised the music for its fresh approach and expressive energy.
