Biography

XENIA ZEMSKAJA is composer and singer. 2007-2012 Xenia studied composition at Tallinn
Music and Theatre Academy with prof. Toivo Tulev (Master of Arts; MA)
2009-2010 Xena studied at Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (Poland) composition with prof.
Krzystof Baculewski.
In 2012 her vocal cycle “Concerto for Voice and Piano” was selected to be part of the international
festival of arts NEU / NOW 2012. Xenia presented Estonia country. In 2014 her vocal cycle got 2
awards in Boston International Contempo Festival.
In 2018 Xenia work “Butterfly in a Jar” was selected to be part of the seventh-annual
Electroacoustic international festival of electronic music and arts “Barn Dance” and 2018 New
York City Electroacoustic Music Festival.
