Biography

Lars Skoglund (1974) is a composer and musician living in Oslo. He studied composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music and Rotterdams Conservatorium, and musicology and philosophy at NTNU, Trondheim.

Skoglund has worked with international ensembles and orchestras such as Ensemble Adapter (DE/IS), Holland Symfonia (NL), Radio Kamer Filharmonie (NL) conducted by Peter Eötvös, Ensemble Zeitfluss (AT), Studio Dan (AT), Ensemble Ernst (N), Arctic Symphony Orchestra, Tøyen Fil og Klafferi, Ensemble neoN, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and Bodø Sinfonietta. His works are performed at festivals a.o. in Norway, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Russia, Iceland and the USA.

In 2004 Skoglund received the NOG Jonge Componisten Prijs in Amsterdam for the orchestra work Sentences. He was composer in residence at the Tromsø Music Conservatory in 2006-08, where he later has been teaching. He has worked with music for dance- and theatre performances, and is a member of the cult band Løkbrød.
