Biography

Jaco Meyer is a South African composer and started his career as musician and composer at high school. He went to the North-West University (NWU) to study music where he completed his BMus degree, MMus (Composition) cum laude, PGCE cum laude, and PhD. He also received the FTCL in Composition from the Trinity College of London. He presented research papers at both national and international conferences, and is also an active researcher in the field of musicology. As a composer, he had much success with several commissions, performances, recordings, and publications of his music, both nationally and internationally. Many of his compositions were performed internationally and by international artists such as the Chamber Music Company of London, the Groesbeeks Gemengd Koor (Netherlands), Duo Montagnard (USA), and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra / Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (Belgium).
