Biography

Márton Kerékfy (*1981) studied musicology and composition at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, graduating in 2007 and receiving his PhD in musicology in 2015. In 2006 he spent one semester on an Erasmus Grant at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Between 2008 and 2012 he was granted the scholarship of Artisjus (the Hungarian association for the protection of authors’ rights), and in 2009 and 2010 he was also granted the Zoltán Kodály Scholarship for young musicologists. Márton has won composition prizes in Hungary and abroad. His music has widely been played an broadcast, with premieres in, among others, Austria, Italy, the USA, Japan, and New Zealand. Márton is Research Fellow at the Budapest Bartók Archives and Editor in Chief at Editio Musica Budapest.
