ISCM Activities

ISCM arranges other activities than WNMD throughout the year. These are the ISCM Young Composer Awards, ISCM-VICC Composer in Residency program and ISCM Collaborative Events that are activities co-organised by multiple ISCM Members.

Our activities

ISCM Young Composer Award

The ISCM Young Composer Award has been presented each year since 2002 to a composer under the age of 35 whose work is performed at the current festival. The winner gets a monetary prize and a commission for a new piece to be performed at a future edition of the ISCM World New Music Days.

VICC Residency

The ISCM and the VICC – Visby International Centre for Composers (in Visby, on the island of Gotland, Sweden) have an annual co-operation program: the ISCM-VICC Composer in Residency Program. In this program up to 6 composers per year are offered free accommodation and unrestricted use of an appropriate composing studio at the Centre for a period of 4 weeks.

Collaborative Events

The main goal of a network is collaboration. The ISCM has members from around the globe who engage in collaborative events large and small. Here you can learn about some of them.

WNMD – World (New) Music Days

The annual ISCM World (New) Music Days Festival is organized each year by a different host. The festival presents music from each of our members, showcasing the incredible diversity of musical practice in our time.
