Notes

  • Program notes:

Études are written for the International competition Young Virtuosos – Études and Scales 2011 and they are continuation of the 2010 cycle of six piano etudes, Études – Variations on a Well Known Theme. The composer, knowing that this form is primarily intended for perfecting the playing technique, that is mastering certain technical problems, has skilfully used the song Frere Jacques in the first cycle, and Au Clair de la Lune in this one, making the practice easier and more interesting. And while we play these etudes, we can almost hear between the notes the distant echo of the words of the friend Pierrot who “in his bed of feathers, on a quiet night dreams a wonderful dream, the moon giving him his silver croissant.”
