Notes

  • Program notes:

In 1913, the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935) writes his “static drama”: The Saylor. Static drama because the characters don’t move, merely dialogue, the entire text is composed only by poetic dialogues, deprived of dramas main element: action.

From the fragments of the original text used as a hyper structure, I will build a net of references and a collage about themes such as identity, memory, diversity and identification, making a parallel between Pessoa’s text, contemporary and past personal and political situations.

The scene, since based on the text and not on the actions can be “compacted” for two voices.

The scenario shall be simple and reduced (maybe a video).
