    "GHB is the abbreviation for a rather popular drug in the techno-scene. Corresponding to the aesthetic, interactive orientation of the techno-scene, this drug has a euphoric, disinhibitory effect and intensifies the feeling of direct physical proximity: cuddly-collectiveness and emphatic sympathy as intoxicating conditions of the techno rituals. The orchestral piece aims towards such conditions without creating actual techno-music. This is, therefore, a kind of synaesthetic transference.
    "The piece is called GHB for another reason, too: the cell g-h-b (g, b and b-flat in English, translator's note) is processed right at the beginning of the piece with a fractal algorithm, thus creating the pitch material. This is processed with complex high-speed rhythms derived in turn from electronic dance-music as is customary in the techno-scene. As usual in my pieces, this orchestral piece is about a kind of "library-related" archival relationship to other music and its history. A Serbian folksong (Lela Vranjanka) is sampled here, on the one hand. On the other hand, conscious allusions to the ballet music of the Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian are created. It is thus a conscious homage because the ballet music of Khachaturian seems to me to be no less a resounding, "uninhibited" physical action than is the dance ritual of a techno-night. On the other hand, the refinements of Khachaturian's instrumentation are taken as an orchestral model. Otherwise, there is just one thing more to note in this orchestral piece as regards continuity. As in most of my works, this orchestral piece is marked by characteristics that one could summarise with the following key words: states of intoxication, electronic music, sampling procedures and the world of fractal beauties. The piece is dedicated to Bernd Künzig."
