    Program notes of “Two Pieces for Choir and Piano” (for SATB or youth choir):

    Part I: Harvest Hope
    Harvest Hope is commissioned by the Singapore Canossian School for the Hearing Impaired Children’s Choir and Percussion Band, as part of their 2014 international tour. All members are in between of age 7-10 years old. The poem is chosen from a young talented writer (the composer’s daughter) Li Guan-Mei Timpson, which was completed while she was in 5th grade.

    Part II: Multi-Cultural Songs
    Multi-Cultural Songs incorporates folk tunes from the following countries: Korea, Japan, Indonesia, China and Russia. This music travels from country to country within a seamless path, regardless to the language~~the ultimate goal is to establish the statement of “We are the World”, as a united nation.

    This set can be performed by 1) SATB (female vs. male voices [SA & TB] for “Harvest Hope” and 4 voice version of “Multi-Cultural Songs”); 2) any two voices choir (Youth, Children or Women’s choir)
