Kroening, Brett: Invocation

Basic information

Notes

  • Program notes:

"Invocation" for a cappella choir was composed by commission for conductor Ryan Goessl and the Camarata Music Company based in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Goessl desired a new work based on the poem "Invocation" by Korean poet Kim Sowol.
The work is full of close-knit harmonies, chant-like sections and evokes a feeling of introspection. The piece was premiered by the Camarata Chamber Singers in the fall of 2011 in Seoul and has since been published by Lovebird Music Publishing in Plano, TX.
