KIM, SUE HYE: ‘HWA-GWANG-DONG-JIN’ for Orchestra

Basic information

Notes

  • Program notes:

The expression ‘HWA-GWANG-DONG JIN’ in Daodejin by Laozi means that to assist sentient beings, deities “dimmed their radiance and became identical to the dust of the profane world.” I composed this piece out of hope that the differences between each and every person should be treasured and celebrated, but that all the people become ‘one’ in harmony. I look forward to the day when the chaos and difficulties in every part pf society end and everyone becomes one under the spirit of ‘HWA-GWANG-DONG-JIN’ and I dedicated this piece to this land.
