Basic information

Notes

  • Program notes:

Aquarelle is written for string orchestra. The piece presents technical and emotional aspects of aquarelle painting that is composer’s hobby. Colorful energy, strong brush strokes and clear lines are used that is opposite to traditional aquarelle painting.
The work is a result of composer's Master project about spectromorphology that can be used not only as an analytical tool, but also as an inspiration and a method before creating acoustic composition. Aquarelle is based on three energy articulations: impulse, sustained sound and iterated sound. Very important is variety of sounding mass (glissando), which is present in all mentioned articulations.
