Regina Irman: Schwarzes Glück, Percussion Quartet, revised version 2001
The piece „Schwarzes Glück“ (i.e. Black Veins) is inspired by a poem of Hans Arp (1887 - 1966), who
was a prominent Dadaist and surrealist artist and poet .
Regina Irman – herself a professional percussionist – has chosen a rich and colourful set of instruments
that is framed within clear mathematical structures.
Jochen Schorer, Lars Rapp, Thomas Fink, and Philipp Ohl (Quatuor de percussion) are the four young
German musicians who recorded the virtuoso piece in 2001.
„Schwarzes Glück“ has hitherto never been performed in concert.
