Notes

  • Program notes:

This work is a sonic realization inspired by the vibrant metropolitan city - Hong Kong.
I try to evoke the agitated atmosphere by means of the rhythmic percussive gesture.
Different combinations of pitched percussion instruments are blended, in order to explore the timbral variety.
The improvisation section is intended to execute certain amount of freedom in the work, for the purpose of liberation of sound itself.
The work has been World Premiere in Hong Kong on 18th Jul, 2014. At Hong Kong International Percussion Festival 2014
Performers: Percussions Claviers de Lyon (France)
    Venue: Loke Yew Hall, HKU
