At the heart of my piece I constructed a 'basic pattern' to help form the timbral organisation for the whole piece. This pattern served to create multiple mirror sequences, rotations, displacements and shifted structures. I found these processes could be sieved in different ways thus developing their own momentum and character. As a composer I responded to this by bringing this momentum out in my piece.

For me the interplay between the planned and unpredictable create an openness that allows new perspectives to emerge which in turn influence and shape the course of the whole piece.
