Gheorghiu, Diana: Caleidoscope

Basic information

Notes

  • Program notes:

Kaleidoscope is a tube of mirrors containing different shaped small colored objects. By rotating the tube, one can admire various images formed by the moving objects that reflect into the mirrors, creating a constantly changing view.

The work uses a micro-sectional structure throughout which the material is differently assembled in order to create various acoustic images that melt into each other, catching the “eye” of the listener.

“Kaleidoscope” was created in 2010, for the 20th anniversary of Aperto Trio.
