    KAYIP SESSİZLİĞİN ANISINA RAĞMEN
Despite the Memory of the Lost Silence
    for orchestra 2012
Commissioned by the Borusan Culture and Art

Premiered by the Borusan Istanbul Philarmonic Orchestra, conducted by Gürer Aykal, 17.January 2013 in Lütfi Kirdar UKSS in Istanbul

This work is the output, as well as the story of a journey I have made, in which I have searched something -with a hope and curiousity to discover, during the composing process of this piece.
The Silence – which has never existed; which is lost - could be hidden in an unmasked melody that the orchestra shouts out loud; it would make itself noticeable through the clamour and ‘noise’.
Despite the memory of the lost silence, the orchestra shouts.
With the memory of the lost silence, the orchestra breaks off, waits, shouts, shouts again, breaks off again and waits…it waits…and breaks off.
