    Vortex VIII op.132 B belongs to a cycle of twenty pieces I have composed, for several instruments and ensembles. The main idea of writing a Vortex is associated with the vortex in fluid dynamics. Just as the flow in a fluid rotates around an axis line, so too in Vortex the main idea “rotates” around a pitch or a couple of pitches, rhythm, velocity, dynamics etc. The music material I have used consists of twelve-tone series (entire series or fragments) and modal elements. My intention is to build a structure based on my own theory of Polidomisis (multi-structure) that means building something in several, different and connected levels.
