Notes

  • Program notes:

Eclipse for piano trio, was written between February 26th and August 21st of 2017, both dates of eclipse that year. The eclipse phenomenon, in which one celestial object is temporarily obscured by another body, inspired this work in the way it is structured. It consists of a single element, a major 3rd interval, set at different distances from itself, generating thus different harmonic colors and musical possibilities each time that distance is altered, and it is also a factor that contributes to the fragmentary form of this piece. Therefore, this distancing process is not a linear discursivity, but rather a collection of pictures of different angles of the same phenomenon.
