The theme of identity changes, through transition rituals, construct both individual life and linkage to the social group. The ethnologist Arnold van Gennep folklorist , above my approach in his book , “The Rites of Passage”, dated 1909.
"Groups as well as individuals, to live is: an endless dismantling and rebuilding process ,a change of status and form, death and rebirth . It is to act then stop, wait and rest and start again to then act , but differently. And again, it is new thresholds to pass: summer or winter thresholds, season or year , month or night ; threshold of birth, adolescence or middle age, old age, death ; and the other threshold of life for those who believe .
Based on Latin etymology limen means threshold or limit, it offers a tripartition of the rite of passage into three sequences” . They will serve as a basic structure to this piece.
Limen is commission by INAGRM and first play on January 25th 2013.
