Basic information

Notes

  • Program notes:

Mirte (2011) is a piece about searching for a love that is lost, trying to retrieve it,
The text is the first three stanzas of Der Geistliche Gesang (El Cantico Espiritual) of John of the
Cross, as translated by Antoine Beuger (many thanks).

This work hasn't previously been performed in Estonia.
This work has previously been performed in Germany.

  • Technical specs:

    important note
Mirte is a piece for one performer singing and accompanying herself (or himself) on a keyboard
    instrument.
For a performance at the festival, a kannel may serve as the 'keyboard' instrument to be played by
the singer. Or the kannel player may sing while playing.
