Notes

  • Program notes:

Channels is an acoustic piece, written for solo cello. Its main idea is a real time combination of several layers of different and contrasting music materials. It is the same as a sound engineer who uses a multi-channel mixer at a studio or live performance (opening and closing, balancing and combining several sound channels while adding effects to them) a cellist should integrate and combine six music materials (channels) that are written in traditional notation and should be
    continued by the performer's improvisation.
