Notes

  • Program notes:

Veliki prasak (the Big Bang) is the author’s subjective impression of an event that took place over 13 billion years ago, creating the universe out of a small core. Besides its imponderable subject matter, the theme was challenging to express through the symphony orchestra in terms of composition. The composer undertook this artistic endeavour in 2016. The piece’s light introduction outlines the mental structure of the composer’s impression of the Big Bang, its middle section in fast tempo is an attempt to express it, while the coda once again represents the composer’s concluding thoughts. The great act of Creation is expressed through music within the musical and orchestral boundaries available to the composer and infused with tension which reflects its demanding theme.
