Notes

  • Program notes:

My piece Quartet pour la fin du jam (for flute, 3 triangles, piano and violoncello) was composed in August, 2016. I intended to create a musical process reflected on the so-called jam session.
I was interested in this relatively informal jazz-musical activity, as improvisation without extensive preparation or predefined rules. In my composition, I tried to visualize all of the well-separated origins of jazz-musical dimensions (melody, harmony, rhythm and bass), but dynamically combined among the instruments: the triangles could create melody, the flute could be the rithmical accompagnament and so on. I didn’t tried to imitate jazz-improvisation. I used my own musical language in the interest of creating an actual reflexion on the topic.
