    GEORGE BALINT – Romania

Presentation of the work for category 9c – Mixed choir with solo instrument

ONEIRIC IMMERSION (2018) – concerto poem for mixed choir with violin solo

Oneiric immersion has been composed for mixed choir with violin solo, following the pattern and the structure of a concerto poem. Among the traditional expression elements, the choir also benefits from a series of unconventional utterances. Although the violin conveys a rather classical, conventional solo attitude, the choir's scheme does not comprise only the committed principles, thus becoming an original sonorous environment, without words, decisive for the entire phrasing of the work, through the sequence of several sonorous depictions. To all intents and purposes, the title suggests a sonorous fantasy, projected on an imaginary scenery. (Duration approximately 11:30 minutes.)
