Notes

  • Program notes:

Many of my favorite pieces are rigorously constructed using strict processes and infinite reduction in search of the essential. I was curious to see what would happen if, instead of a musical idea, I placed a particular affect, in this case endless sense of gratitude, at the center of attention, Can it be examined, de-construed, and researched in the same way one beholds a musical motive, and, perhaps more importantly, can such an approach yield a moving and generous experience?
