    Notes on the piece

String Quartet No.3 composed in 2015, consists of independent miniatures (“monads” almost in Leibnizian sense) which can be performed in any order. Some of them can be omitted, but in any case there should be at least six of them. They can be ordered on the principle of contrast, similarity, or evolution; the composer leaves the decision to the performers.

Most of the movements end with a kind of post- or interlude, made up of nonconventional sounds, played on the bridge, tailpiece, or on the body of the instrument. The actual articulation is at the discretion of the performers. Hovever, some suggestions are written-out in the performance notes in the score.

The piece, dedicated to the Duchnowski family, has been performed for the first time in Katowice in 2015, Silesian String Quartet playing.
