Notes

  • Program notes:

If Mont Blanc as the highest peak in Europe represents a symbol of all nations around it, I see it more as a joint mixture of different cultures and nations, where everyone is on one side searching for their mutual "material" or "elements" (the basics that is common to all nations, that binds them together) but also as a representation of the individuality. My idea of the piece was to find a few basic elements (you can find them in percussion groups: wood, metal and glass) and through these basic elements show the reactions and also cooperation among groups or individuals (how the orchestra reacts to the percussion group) and with these means describe the phenomenon of "coming together" or "linking" and "falling apart" and "separating".
