Biography

Zou Xiangping is Professor in the Composition Department at Sichuan Conservatory of Music. His works have received performances or prizes in American, Austria, Japan, France, Australia and Taiwan. He has written music for symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles and Chinese instruments. Prof. Zou was an US Asian Cultural Council and United Board visiting scholar/composer to America for 1997-99. He has been given a residency at University of California, San Diego, and Miami University. His music received China "Twenty Century Classics Music Award” in 2004 year and national “Golden Bell award”.

Zou Xiangping’s music is attractive and imaginative cause by very deep Chinese cultural background and personal composition dexterous technique. Recently, his works Fantastic in Color premiered by Hang Kang Chinese Orchestra and piano trio premiered in East Asian Contemporary music Festival in Hiroshima in Japan
