Biography

Efe Yüksel was born in 1999 in İzmir, Turkey. He studied piano with Gülnare Özdemir and composition with Özge Usta, Yiğit Aydın and Ahmet Yürür. In his works, he is interested in the concept of time and sound production. Through these, he is trying to achieve an articulation of his musical discourse. He values an interaction of his performers with the musical event. His esthetic tendency is eclectic. In his music, serialism goes along with traditional elements. Efe Yüksel enjoys philosophy and mathematics, researching tempered and non-tempered scales. He reflects on realities of quantum physics and mechanics, wishing to incorporate elements of contemporary science in music.
