Biography

Andrew Wilson-Dickson’s compositions have been played by prominent soloists including John Wallace (trumpet), Madeleine Mitchell (violin) and Kevin Bowyer (organ) and ensembles including Lontano, the Wallace Collection and the Medici String Quartet (BBC commission). He won the Bournemouth-Parry International Festival composition prize in 1999 with Psalm 29, which then toured Australia with the Sydney Chamber Choir.
He is interested in writing for early instruments, and has been commissioned by Fretwork and Charivari Agréable. He recently wrote an oratorio, and has created responsorial settings to nearly 40 psalms, alongside hymns, cantatas, three operas and other dramatic works.
