Biography

Connor Elias Way is a composer based in Atlanta, Georgia. With a musical background in instrumental post-rock and a strong interest in timbre-based music of the twentieth century, Connor's music is both engaging and multifaceted. In 2014, he graduated summa cum laude with a B.Mus. in Composition from Georgia State University where he studied with Brent Milam and Nickitas Demos. As a harpist, Connor studied under Elizabeth Remy Johnson of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and currently serves as the harpist for Chamber Cartel. During the 2011/12 academic year, he served as the Treasurer for the Society of Composers, Inc. student chapter at Georgia State University. He was elected Vice President of the organization for the 2012/13 term and President for the 2013/14 term. Connor’s piece Logos for marimba/vibraphone, piano, and percussion was selected for a performance at the 2013 PARMA Music Festival in Portsmouth, NH and his piece Harlequin was selected as a finalist in the League of Composers/ISCM 2014 Composition Competition. Connor's music has been performed by the NeoPhonia New Music Ensemble, Chamber Cartel, and the Terminus Ensemble, among others, and is self-published through Union Peak Music (ASCAP).
