Biography

Mihaela Vosganian - Trans – real artist - composer/dynamic performer/voice/midi percussion/live electronics
She is the founder of “archetypal trans-realism”, a new spiritual esthetic orientation which proposes, on the one hand, to reinstate the archetypal functions of art – the ritual, the catharsis, the healing and the ecstasy, and on the other hand to express a different form of the surreal, named by the composer trans-real, emerging from extended states of consciousness which arise out of spiritual dreaming. This new artistic orientation comes into being from the acceptance of a re-dimensioning of consciousness, outgrowing tridimensional space and accessing the multidimensional one. This approach derives not only from the imaginary perspective – specific for the unconscious oneirism – but rather by subliming the authentic spiritual experience.
Professional Background She received a degree in composition and a PHD from the Bucharest University of Music where she is currently professor of composition, polyphony and contemporary languages. After graduation she received professional grants in London and Amsterdam. She has won prizes including Santa Cecilia Alba Adriatica (1992, Italy), International New Music Consortium Award ( New York 1998), G. Enescu Prize of Romanian Academy (2000), Romanian Cultural Award (2008), Romanian Union of Composers Prizes for symphonic work (2009).
She has given lectures at international festival and conferences events: IP Pennsylvania (USA 1996), Donne in musica (Italy 1997,1998, 2001), IAWM Congress (England, 2001), Ateneo de Musica y Danza (Spain 2008), UNI Oldenburg (2004, 2010), New Zeeland Festival of Contemporary Music (2006), Conservatorio Superior de Musica Manuel Castillo SEVILLA (2010), Puerto Madrin Festival (Argentina 2011). She has been participated in European Project such as Cultura 2000 (A.D.E. project 2003-2004 or WIMUST- 2011-2014). Since 2002 she used to be the official guest of WMD as a composer (2002, 2004, 2006, 2012) or as a First Delegate (2002-2012).

Recorded on 13 CDs (including 4 composer’s CD) and on 2 Dvds, her music has been performed in Romania and internationally (Europe, USA, Canada, Asia, Australia).
She is a member of the Symphonic Commission and of Council of the Romanian Union of Composers and Musicologists, Founder and President of Romanian Association of Women in Music - ISCM Associate Member, as well as Member of Donne in Musica International Board. As founder and Artistic Coordinator of Inter-art Contemporary music and Dance Group she has been toured in Romania and all over the world (Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, USA, Canada, Pakistan, Japan, 2001-2013), during festivals, seasons, or other international events such as Olympic Games (Greece 2004), World Exhibition (Japan 2005). She used to be the Director of International Week of New Music (2003, 2010-2012) and of Multi Sonic Fest Festival (2003-2008).
Her musical approach reveals some constant preoccupations such as:
1. to explore the possible fusion zone of different cultures and traditions at the level of musical language (Indian Interferences, African Interferences, Armenian Interferences, Japanese Interferences, Sogni tra Suoni, Iranian Interferences);
2. to exhaust the latent virtual of a matrix structure during some paradigmatic cycles (Intro, fugato and Synthesis, Symphony II, Monologue, Dialogue, Mega Dyalogue, Un altra Ciaccona, Ciaccona con canone;
3. to explore trans-personal spiritual experience in stage, both as a composer and as a performer
(Dynamic Meditation, White Lady’s Power Places, Awaken Dreamer).
