Biography

Tsui Mei-ling Meilina (b. 1993) is a composer and pianist born in Almaty, Kazakhstan and raised and based in Hong Kong. Tsui earned her B.A. in Music with First Class Honours from the Chinese University of Hong Kong under “Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship” and M.Mus. in Composition with Distinction from King’s College London under “Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme.” Her music has been broadcast by London arts radio "Resonance fm" and RTHK Radio 4 and performed at international festivals ACL (Vietnam), highSCORE Festival (Italy), Asia-Europe New Music Festival (Russia), and All-Russian Young Composers Festival (Russia). She was the youngest and only female featured composer at the “HK Music Series” in London, which celebrated the HKSAR’s 20th anniversary. Tsui was a finalist at the International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition (Prague), 3rd-Prize Winner at SUN RIVER PRIZE (Chengdu) and 2nd-Prize Laureate of ‘NEW GENERATION’ (HK).
