Tara, Dragos - M - Switzerland 




Dragos Tara was born in 1976 in Bucharest and lives in Switzerland since the age of 5. He studied bass
guitar and double bass at the conservatory in Lausanne. He studied composition with Eric Gaudibert,
Michael Jarrell and Emmanuel Nunes and electroacoustics with Rainer Boesch and Luis Naon at the
conservatories of Geneva and Paris.
He composes works infuenced by electronics and new technologies, in parallel to his activity as and

Beside his composition activities, he is also a curator and researcher and obtained a Masters in Critical
Curatorial Studies in 2016 at the High School for Arts in Geneva in 2016.
Residencies in Moutiers ( Pentographe center), Baltimore (Hi Zero Festival), Amsterdam (STEIM).
Winner of 2nd price a the ASM improvisation competition of in 2004 with Kiku, audience award at the
music festival for silent flm from Aosta in 2005, Nominee for the Swiss Price of musical creation in 2014.
