Biography

Anton Steinecker was born in 1971 in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. He has been studying musical composition since 1993 in private lessons with Tadeáš Salva and at the Academy of Music in Bratislava. He continued his studies between 1998 and 2000 at The Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance with Mark Kopytman. He took part in the 8th International Summers Programme in Composition CASMI in Prague (2001), Ostrava New Music Days with Christian Wolff, Alvin Lucier, Jean-Yves Bosseur, Petr Kotík and Tristan Murail (2001, 2003), International Music Academy "Masters de Pontlevoy" with Mark Kopytman (2002), at the Hochschule des Saarlandes für Musik und Theater with Theo Brandmüller (2002 – 2005), International Holiday Courses Of New Music in Darmstadt with Brian Ferneyhough, Chaya Czerowin, Toshio Hosokawa, Enno Poppe and Georg Friedrich Haas (2003) and the international courses "Tage für Interpretation und Aufführungspraxis, HFM Saar" with Theo Brandmüller, Toshio Hosokawa (2003, 2004).
