Biography

Composer, writer.
o Graduated at Music Academy in Belgrade;
o Advanced Studies at the IRCAM, Paris;
o Radio Television Belgrade. Editor of the Sound Workshop programme;
o Director of Culture Projects at the Centre for Democracy Foundation;
o From 2001. to 2006, Artistic Director of the Bemus Music Festival;
o In 2007. and 2008, State Secretary for Culture in the Serbian Ministry of Culture.

Ivana Stefanović's pieces have been performed in Europe and Middle East as well as at various festivals.
She is also involved in fringe music areas and composes for the theatre.
She published a books The Road to Damascus, Music Made of Anything and “Private story”.
Main recognitions: Award of the City of Belgrade; Lifetime Achievement Award for an exceptional contribution to radiophonics; Mokranjac Prize for Extraordinary scenes from Homer’s grave in Smyrna (2008); Crnjanski Prize for The Road to Damascus; Sterija Prize; SLABBESZ Prize for Lachrymosa.
