Biography

Želislava Sojak Subotić (1989) graduated in 2013 from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava, department of Music Composition, under the leadership of Prof. Evgeny Irshai, PhD, with a composition for chamber orchestra "Blue Fairy Tales" which was premiered in November 2014 at the festival "New Slovak Music" in Bratislava.
During her studies she participated in several international music festivals and workshops such as "Haydn the Progressive" in Eisenstadt (Austria), festival of contemporary music "aXes - The New Music Triduum" in Krakow (Poland), Orfeus festival (Bratislava), Rezonancie, ARS NOVA Casoviae etc. where her compositions were presented and performed. In collaboration with Serbian pianist Marija Ligeti Balint she issued a collection of piano music "Pančevačka klavirska muzika" which contained also her piano compositions. In 2012 she won the first prize for a composition for two cellos in the international competition "Donne in Musica" in Kragujevac (Serbia).
