Biography

The highly energetic music of Rob Smith is frequently performed throughout the United States and abroad. He has received numerous awards, including a Fulbright Grant to Australia and an Aaron Copland House Residency. Commissions have come from the Texas Music Festival Orchestra and the American Composers Forum, among others. Currently, he teaches at the University of Houston’s Moores School of Music where he is Professor of Music Composition and Director of the AURA Contemporary Ensemble.
