Biography

Sighicelli first studied piano then composition (notably with Gérard Grisey), electroacoustic and improvisation at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris from which he graduated in 1998 with first prizes in these fields. He was in residency at the Villa Medicis in 2003-2004. His works have been played and/or commissioned by organisms such as Radio France, the Itinéraire, Ictus, 2e2m ensembles, the Ministry of Culture, Arditti Quartet, Collegium Novum Zürich, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, the National Orchestra of Montpellier... He founded the company Sphota in 2000 and Caravaggio in 2004. With these two groups he has given numerous concerts and performances in France and abroad (Festival Musica, Tage fur neue musik, Traiettorie, Berliner Festpiel, Roma Europa...). He is more and more extending his work on theatrical production (Marée noire, L’île solaire, The need for cosmos ...). His instrumental works are published by Jobert (Lemoine).
