Biography

Sergiu Shapira completed his Master Degree in Composition at the Bucharest State Academy of Music in Romania.
Established in Israel in 1961, S. Shapira joined the Faculty Staff of Jerusalem Music Academy. Shapira’s Ph.D. was accorded by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for his comprehensive research on the topic Artistic-Educational Piano Music.
Shapira's works include orchestral, chamber, instrumental and vocal music. His works were performed and published in Israel, U.S.A, Germany, Italy, Austria, Canada and others. In 1999, the composer was awarded with the Prize of "International Composition Contest for Clarinet", category Clarinet Solo, for his work A Talk with the Unseen.
