Biography

Franz Ferdinand August Rieks (*1998), PreCollege major composition with Prof. Markus Hechtle and Prof. Dr. hc Wolfgang Rihm, major piano with Prof. Markus Stange at the University of Music Karlsruhe. Pianist of the Studio musikFabrik, the country's Youth Ensemble for New Music, the Ensemble of States, founding member of the Duo GEGENKLANG. Winner inter alia of the Composition Competition OPUS ONE of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the International Steinway Piano Competition, double award winner in the highest level of Jugend musiziert/special honor of WESPE and Mendelssohn Competition, fourfold winner of the International Piano Podium Munich. UA of the symphonic poem Migremus Per Finientem by the Tonkünstler Orchestra Austria under baton of Rieks at Grafenegg Festival 2014 because of the invitation of Jörg Widmann and Lothar Zagrosek, selected Fellow of the Second Ensemble Modern Composers Studio 2014 with CD production, Scholarship and premiere artist of the German Music Council.
