Biography

Nadim Housni was born in December 1983 in Damascus-Syria. He started playing the violin at age of 11. Between 2000-2005 he studied viola at The High Institute of Music in Damascus and became a member of the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra. Since 2003 he has been a member of the West-East Divan

Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Barenboim. From 2007 to 2010 he studied composition under W.Widlak at The Academy of Music in Krakow/Poland. In 2009, his composition Rada for viola solo was premièred at the Days of Krakow Composers (International Festival for Contemporary Music). In 2010, the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra played

the world première of his diploma composition Music on Canvas for 2 Orchestras. Recently he has been studying conducting under P.Przytocki at The Academy of Music in Krakow.
