Biography

Javier Muñoz-Bravo was born in Chili. He is Graduate of Musical Composition at the University of Chili in Santiago where he has studied with Andrés Maupoint and Cirilo Vila. He studies with Mark Andre in the Conservatory of Strasbourg (France) and he is Graduate of Master in Composition of the Académie Supérieure de Musique of Strasbourg, under the direction of Philippe Manoury and Annette Schlünz. Now he is a student of electroacoustic music with Tom Mays. He has participated in the master classes of Hans Zender, Kaija Saariaho, Beatriz Ferreyra, Francis Dhomont, between others. He participated in a course “Copiu – Chili” 2008 to 2010 and “Ceibo” 2009 (B.A. – Argentine) dictated by Luca Belcastro. Javier is president of the group of composers “l’état latent” (France) and member of the Electroacoustic Community of Chile.
Javier Muñoz has presented his compositions in many music concerts, for example in the VI to VIII Festival of Electroacoustic music Ai-Maako (2006-2010), VII to XI Festival of Contemporary Music at the University of Chili (2007-2011), “39ème Festival Bourges 2009” (France), “Festival of contemporary music of Lima 2012” (P-eru). He has presented in the Conservatory of Strasbourg his "Electronic Mass ballet" for dance and images, with Jean-François Dudoure's choreography (2012). In 2013 he presents the dramatic piece “El canto de las moscas” in Strasbourg and in the Conservatory of Basel (Switzerland). In 2014, Javier presents his Concerto for piano in Strasbourg and his electronic piece “Décombres” in two sessions in the IRCAM – Paris and the Darmstadt summer course 2014 in Germany.
