Biography

In 2014, she obtains with distinction a master in composition at the Brussels music Conservatory with Peter Swinnen. In the past, she obtained also a master in musicology at the U.L.B. (Bruxelles), and then an elaborate degree in musicology at the University of Strasbourg (France). Furthemore, she learns also with J.-L. Robert (musical school at Nivelles), K. Goeyvaerts (1976-77) and O. Messiaen (Centre Acanthes, summer 1987), and also with Claude Ledoux (composition).

She is actually professor (history of music) at Fine arts Academy of Brussels and she teaches harmony, analysis, history of music and music theory in music schools.

Among 26 pieces, seven of her works have been edited by Lantro (Belgium). Spirales, for clarinette solo, was selected to became the given work at the Axion Classics competition and was played at several occasions (including in Brésil) and recorded by the belgian broadcasting. She received commands of Musiques Nouvelles, Ensemble 21, Festival Loop 2 and Axion classics and has been played in several belgian festivals (Emergence 2006 and 2007, Loop 2011, Festival de l’Eté Mosan 2015). She was also played, namely, by Izumi Okubo, Els Crommen, Jean-Paul Zanutel, E. Suys, J.-L. Votano, Cl.-H. Inglese and J. Ninove.

Her piece Le Rêve de Caliban, for solo voice, was selected for playing at the World Music Days of Zagreb 2011 and broadcasted on several radio systems (Croatian, Portugese, Belgian).

She is laureate of the International Composition Competition of Académie de Lutèce in Paris (bronze and silver medals).

She has sitten in the jurys of Composition Competition Axion Classics, and also at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège (chamber music) and académie d’Audenaarde (piano); she received subsidies from the Communauté française of Belgium for Dans ce noir (2004), Tropes de mémoire (2005), L'éventail déchiré (2005) and Texture/figures (2015). She is member of the Belgian Union of Composers and of the Belgian Society of musical analysis.

Collaborator of the Dictionnaires Bordas (Les Hommes et leurs œuvres and Dictionnaire des œuvres de l’art vocal), she has also published several articles on musical analysis and musicology.
