Biography

Marián Lejava - conductor and composer was trained both composition and conducting by V. Bokes, O. Lenárd, K. Huber, T. Murail, P. Eötvös, Zs. Nagy to name few. Since 2003 he was assistant to Zs. Nagy, G. Albrecht or Ch. Arming among others.
Since 2000 he is principal conductor of VENI ensemble, since 2014 principal conductor of Prague modern ensemble. Regurarly guest conductor of many orchestras and theatres home (Slovak National Theatre, State Philharmony Košice, Slovak Philharmony) and abroad (Germany, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech republic, China, Japan). As composer he received several prizes (Slovakia, Czech republic, USA). He recorded 13 CD´s.
During 2007-14 he led The Opera Studio at the AMD in Bratislava, since 2007 he teaches conducting and composition the. He gave lectures in Aveiro (PT) and Prague (CZ). He is member of the board of ISCM slovak section. He was programme adviser of the ISCM WNMD 2013 festival.
