Biography

Brett Kroening studied Horn Performance, Music Theory and Composition at Metropolitan State University and the University of New Mexico. He then attended graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin and was Teaching Assistant under Professor Patrick Hughes and the UT Horn Studio in 2007.

As a composer, Brett has received national and international commissions from ensembles such as: The United States Air Force Academy, Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, Wichita State University, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, and The Camarata Music Company (Seoul, Korea) which has employed him as the Composer-Not-In-Residence for the 2014-2015 season. Brett has also received local and regional composition commissions from Mayfield High School Orchestra and Band, Bosque Preparatory School Wind Ensemble, The Copper Street Brass Quintet, Rocky Mountain Brassworks, and The New Mexico School for the Arts.

Brett is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
