Biography

Ante Knešaurek (Zagreb, b. 1978) received a degree in organ from the Academy of Music in Zagreb in the class of Mario Penzar in 2000. He also studied at the Händel-Akademie in
Karlsruhe, Germany, in the class of Ludger Lohmann and with Daniel Roth in Paris. In Croatia Knešaurek studied improvisation with academician Anđelko Klobučar and composition with academician Marko Ruždjak, in whose class he graduated in 2005. He continued his studies in composition with Amadeus Webersinke and with Thierry Escaiche. He received a master’s degree in Zagreb in 2003, and has attended postgraduate studies in organ and improvisation in Detmold under Norbert Düchtel. Knešaurek is the leading organist of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Zagreb. He works as associate professor at the Universities in Zagreb and Osijek.
