Biography

Isabel Klaus, born 1976 in Valencia (Spain), gets her first musical education in treble recorder, piano, music theory, composition and oboe at the Musikschule Weil am Rhein (Germany). 1997 she enters the Musikhochschule Basel (Switzerland), studying Oboe with Omar Zoboli. After the teachers diploma she continues studying composition and music theory with Roland Moser, Detlev Müller-Siemens and Balz Trümpy, also at the Musikhochschule Basel. She workes as an oboe teacher at the Musikschule Dornach. She finishes the studies in summer 2006. Meanwhile she gets a scholarship from the Zuger Kulturstiftung Landys & Gyr, to stay one year in London and study composition at the Royal Academy of Music.
Since 2012 she works as a teacher for ear training and musictheory at the Musikakademie Basel.
She had comissions for Gare du Nord, Ensemble Phoenix, Kammerorchester Basel, Sinfonietta Basel.
2011 the music theater project "grandeur nature" was chosen for a year of Experience Scheme
offered by the Christoph Delz Foundation.
